The 3rd edition of the Futurama Festival comes to an end in Beja

The different generations from Beja did not miss the call and attended all the events cellebrating different artistic expressions. At Pelourinho's public space, to discover the “Backpacks of Hope” installation by visual artist Maria Imaginário with students from High School Diogo Gouveia. Still in Praça da República, among the noise and the affection in the participatory action developed between the Futurama Ambassadors and artist Márcia Lança. In Bairro da Esperança, where choreographer Piny guided the youngsters of the gipsy community In the Dance of Free Bodies. Or from Portas de Mértola, where an epic and unforgettable parade kicked off, bringing together the Chocalheiros from Vila Verde de Ficalho with the Rufar and Bombar Percussion Orchestra.

At Pax Julia, emotional moments unfolded. First, when mother and son “Miquelina and Miguel” (Pereira) showed how family ties go beyond memory recollections. Later, with the update of Cantexto, as six cante alentejano groups presented the new songs composed by Celina da Piedade and Ana Santos, written by Afonso Reis Cabral, Alice Neto de Sousa, Luísa Costa Gomes, Maria do Rosário Pedreira or Rui Cardoso Martins. And Margarida Vale de Gato, who was also present at the Constellation in the Futurama Space, with Clara Palma, Cristina Matos and Márcia Lança, sharing new perspectives on Artistic Creation in Baixo Alentejo.

The Beja Chamber Choir performed two special shows at the Church of Santa Maria, with “Return, Return”, under the direction of Spanish artists Aurora Bauzà & Pere Jou. To finish big style, we welcomed to Praça da República the local talent YVNG and the DJ set by Pedro da Linha: warm beats bringing electronic trends and Alentejo sounds closer together.
