A multidisciplinary artist, Gil Delindro has been investigating organic elements and ephemeral processes in nature. His interdisciplinary practice is based on documentary film, installation, performance and research and is oriented towards themes such as bioacoustics, ecology, anthropology and geology. He was in artistic residency in November 2022, in Vidigueira. On the 23rd of January, at 6pm, at Teatro Gama Herculano (Igrejinha Nova), the artist presents to the public his artistic research process inspired by the local territory.
On the same day, at 10 am, the artist runs a workshop for students from the Vidigueira school group.

BIOGRAPHY
Gil Delindro is an artist with wide international recognition in the area of New Media and Sound Art who has been standing out for his research on organic elements and ephemeral processes in nature. His interdisciplinary practice is based on documentary film, installation, performance and research and is oriented towards topics such as bioacoustics, ecology, anthropology and geology. His installations use sound technologies to translate changes in stages of matter, such as soil, water and geological debris, works that are based on acoustic and organic transfigurations.
His work is based on research in very different territories, including the Sahara desert “Twom 2015”, Brazilian forests “Resilience2017”, Siberia “Permafrost 2018”, Rural Vietnam “Blind Signal 2019” and the Rhone Glacier. "La Becque 2019". In 2016 he was selected by SHAPE as one of the most innovative sound artists in Europe. He has been curated by leading festivals such as MusikProtokoll (AU), Novas Frequências (Brazil), Cynetart (DE), Athens Digital Arts Fest (Greece), ARS Eletronica (Linz), Semibreve (Braga), among others. He has received awards and patronage from a wide range of institutions such as EMARE (European Media Art Award), ENCAC (European Audiovisual Creation Network), EDIGMA (Semibreve award), Gulbenkian Foundation (PT), Berlin Senate for Kultur and Europa (DE), Goethe Institute (DE), VARC (Visual Art for Rural Communities), Rivoli (Teatro Municipal do Porto). His work has been acclaimed by the international press - ORF1 (Austria), Musikworks (CA), SHAPE(EU), NEURAL mag(IT), “The Quietus” (UK), being referred to in 2018 as one of the most prolific artists working at the crossroads between art and bio design by the Japanese magazine Boundbaw. He was invited to BADaward 2017, “Biological Clocks of the Universe” Holanda, being a finalist for the 2018 edition.
