On Saturday, December 2, the second Constellations event curated by Hugo Cruz takes place in the Church of S. Paulo, in Serpa, at 6pm. In this Futurama iniative, that brings together artists and professionals from different practices and forms of activism, we invite Mariana Cristina, representative of the choir group As Ceifeiras de Pias, and Mariana Gil & Sara Yasmine, from the group Sopa de Pedra.
Under the title "Whisper", the meeting proposes an open dialog between two groups of women from different generations, from the north and south of Portugal: one from cante alentejano, and the other from Portuguese popular music. In this Constellation, the multiple voices of these collectives come together in a single murmur, echoing, through the experience of singing and the feminine, the breath and memory they all have in common, in the past and and in the present.
The event in Serpa has the support of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Serpa. The conversation will be mediated by Leonor Basílio and Ana Ademar.
