In 2023, we premiered the 2nd edition of Cantexto. In this original Futurama project, the commissioning of unpublished poems from contemporary Portuguese writers breathes new life into the Cante Alentejano repertoire, echoed in the voices of traditional choral groups from the Baixo Alentejo. For those who didn't have the chance to be moved by the Futurama Festival in June, Cantexto is now continuing its tour of Portugal and beyond, with its next performance scheduled for December 1 at the Cineteatro Municipal de Serpa, at 7pm.

This edition's poems were written by Joana Bértholo, Richard Zimler, Regina Guimarães, Ondjaki, Isabela Figueiredo, Afonso Cruz and Marta Pais de Oliveira, for, respectively, Rosinhas do Loredo, Cantadores de Beringel, Ceifeiras de Pias, Grupo Coral e Etnográfico de Vila Nova de São Bento, Cardadores da Sete, Grupo Coral da Mina de S. Domingos, Grupo Coral da Vidigueira. The lyrics were set to music by Celina da Piedade, Ana Santos and Paulo Ribeiro. The presentation in Serpa takes place in partnership with the Municipality of Serpa and with the support of the Cante Alentejano Museum.
