Futurama recognized with Cultural Merit support

Futurama was awarded support under the Cultural Merit Project Program of the Cultural Promotion Fund for the development of the project Grupo de Cante Futurama.
According to the jury, the project ‘demonstrates high artistic quality and unquestionable cultural relevance, standing out for its rigorous and innovative conceptual design, the clarity of its direction and curation, its solid references, and its distinctive contribution to the cultural ecosystem.’ The jury also emphasizes the project’s focus on the appreciation and revitalization of Cante Alentejano, through a multidisciplinary and experimental approach that brings together tradition and contemporaneity, promoting community participation, particularly among young people.
This support represents a significant recognition of the work we have been developing at the intersection of contemporary artistic practices and intangible cultural heritage through Cantexto, reinforcing our commitment to Cante Alentejano as a living, collective practice in constant dialogue with the present.
