Futurama Festival's 3rd edition took off in Serpa

"I left thinking that we can't take freedom for granted", a young girl said after Filipa Francisco's performance that opened Festival Futurama 2025 in Serpa, before Joana Craveiro brought to light the shadows of the Portuguese dictatorship and the conflict in Gaza.
The Constellation at Museu do Cante brought together Celina da Piedade, Ana Santos, Armando Torrão and Rui Cardoso Martins in an inspiring conversation regarding Word and Orality in Alentejo.
There was also an unprecedented parade that brought together Chocalheiros de Ficalho with the percussion of Rufar and Bombar along the city's streets, to conclude its journey at the Cantexto concert in Largo de Santa Maria. The Futurama project, which invited contemporary Portuguese authors to write new poems for cante groups, had an emotional moment under the stars, as the party drew to a close in Serpa.
