The next sessions of "What is that of the contemporary?" will be hosted by choreographer and performer Filipa Francisco. With a body of work that profoundly questions the relationship between art and life, on January 9, 2024, she will present her paths and practices to students from Serpa Secondary School and Diogo de Gouveia Secondary School in Beja.
Biography
Filipa Francisco believes that dance can be an engine for change and has therefore developed various projects in relation to different communities, always attentive to human rights and the individuality of each person or group. With a background in dance, theatre, improvisation and dramaturgy, she has collaborated with choreographers and directors such as Francisco Camacho, Vera Mantero and Silvia Real, among others. As a creator or co-creator, she has presented several shows that have toured Portuguese and foreign festivals, such as "Nu Meio", "Leitura de Listas" (with André Lepecki), "Dueto" (with Idola Zabaleta) and "Para onde vamos?" (with António Pedro). She is artistic director of the Mundo em Reboliço association and is a member of the Periferias Centrais group.
