CONSTELAÇÃO “50 YEARS SINCE THE ADOPTION OF THE PORTUGUESE CONSTITUTION”

As part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, this debate invites reflection on the meaning and relevance of freedom of artistic creation in a democracy. Drawing on Article 42 of the Constitution, which enshrines freedom of cultural and artistic creation, the aim is to discuss how this constitutional principle has shaped the development of artistic practices in Portugal over the past decades.

We invite you to reflect on the role of the Constitution in guaranteeing conditions for cultural creation, circulation, and enjoyment, as well as the contemporary challenges facing artistic freedom.
