Considered one of the pioneers of the Portuguese New Dance movement, Clara Andermatt's career has always been marked by a desire to work with all bodies, trained or not for performance.

With a unique identity in the national and international artistic panorama, the dancer and choreographer proposes, at Futurama Festival, a dance workshop for teenagers living in the Pedreiras neighborhood, in Beja. It will be a moment where the dance of these young people and Clara's dance will meet in order to, together, create a choreography incorporating various languages, wills and energies. And with good music!

Clara Andermatt began her dance training with her mother, Luna Andermatt. She graduated from the London Studio Centre and the Royal Academy of Dance, in London. Between 1984 and 1988 she was a member of the Companhia de Dança de Lisboa, directed by Rui Horta, and between 1989 and 1991 she joined Ramón Oller's Metros Company in Barcelona. In 1991, Clara creates her own dance company and produces numerous works, distinguished with prizes and regularly presented in Portugal and abroad. In 1994, she began a strong relationship with Cape Verde, which materialized in several creative projects with local performers, training activities and collaborations with artists from different areas. In 2015, she was invited by the Municipality of Santa Maria da Feira to artistically direct the LabinDança project. Her language is always in a process of reinvention, marked by travel, by the encounter with other cultures and other artistic languages, and by the will to work with the trained and untrained body. Her work has always had a double dimension: an artistic one and an inclusive one.
