CANTEXTO | ALVITO

We concluded the Futurama Festival with a performance by Cantexto at the Rossio Caves, a venue whose unique character and connection to the local area create an immersive and symbolic experience, highlighting the intersection of heritage, community, and contemporary art.

In 2026, we presented the 5th edition of Cantexto, featuring commissioned works by writers Bruno Vieira Amaral, Cristina Taquelim, Hugo van der Ding, Nástio Mosquito, Patrícia Reis, and Yara Nakahanda Monteiro, for six Alentejo folk singing groups from the Lower Alentejo region: Grupo Coral de Baleizão, Grupo Coral de Cante Alentejano de Alvito, Grupo Coral Feminino “Alma Nova” de Ferreira do Alentejo, Grupo Coral Raízes do Cante da Cuba,  Grupo de Cantares Alentejanos da G.N.R. and the Rancho de Cantadores de Aldeia Nova de S. Bento.
