The collective is located in a hybrid territory between contemporary art and architecture. With their bodies and the camera, they experience spatial relationships, the transfiguration and metamorphosis of space, in a constant resignification that this dialogue makes possible. They lead a workshop at the Secondary School of Castro Verde.
BIOGRAPHY
Os Espacialistas is a laboratory project for the theoretical and practical investigation of the links between Art and Architecture. With their bodies, they experience spatial relationships, the transfiguration and metamorphosis of space, in a constant resignification that this dialogue makes possible. They replace the pencil with the camera, as a device for drawing, thinking, perceiving and diagnosing the natural and built space, whose actions are regulated by the Diário do Espacialista and aided by the “Espacialist Por/tactile Kit” that they carry with them. Among the works carried out are: architectural projects, photography exhibitions, videos, installations, scenic spaces, performances, literary collaborations, photographic illustrations, workshops, seminars and publications. The continued collaboration with the writer Gonçalo M. Tavares, around books, performances, workshops and conferences, stands out.
