During her visit to Mértola, in an artistic residency invited by Futurama, the sound work process of the Spanish artist Sofía Montenegro has as its starting point the observation of the Guadiana river.

In this artistic residency the artist will condense notions and processes that she has carried out in recent years in artistic exercises and sound tours. In them, she has deepened issues related to the speculative power of imagination through listening, always in search of a magical or fictional aspect of reality.

Initially, this project arose from an interest in sound and scenic practices used in cinema and theater. Since then, Sofía Montenegro has been testing different methodologies to approach the cinematographic from the auditory.

The artistic residency will have two public presentations on January 16, at 2:30 pm and 4 pm, at the Cine-Teatro Municipal de Mértola.
