Multidisciplinary plastic artist, whose artistic work reflects on the concepts of landscape and nature. She was in an artistic residency at the Centro de Artes e da Viola Campaniça de Castro Verde between October 31st and November 3rd, with a public sharing of the result of the residency on November 3rd. Biography
Gabriela Albergaria was born in Vale de Cambra, Portugal, in 1965. She lives and works in Brussels and Lisbon. In 1990, she graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Porto University in Painting. She received a grant from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation between 1991 and 1993. She has regularly featured in exhibitions since 1999.
She participated in several artistic residency programs, such as Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin (2000-2001); Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2004): Villa Arson, Centre National d'Art Contemporain, Nice (2008); Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia, Salvador (2008); The University of Oxford Botanic Garden / The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford (2009-2010); Winter Workspace, Wave Hill, New York (2012), Residency Unlimited NY (2015) and Flora ars+natura, Bogotá (2015), among others.
She was nominated for the following awards: Ars Viva 2002/2003 – Landschaft, Germany, and Prix Pictet 2008, The World's Premier Photographic Award in Sustainability.
