The Futurama Festival is a celebration of the diversity and depth of the cultural and artistic ecosystem we nurture in Baixo Alentejo. Inspired by the ancient wisdom of Hesiod, who linked agricultural work with the rhythm of the seasons and the persistence of life on earth, we propose connecting this perspective to the daily work of artistic creation in this traditionally agricultural region. Just as farming shapes and nourishes the land, artistic creation transforms and enriches the cultural fabric of Baixo Alentejo, bringing with each season a new cycle of cultivation and renewal.
In 2026, the Futurama Festival will take place over three weekends in Baixo Alentejo, with a unique programme in each location.
Cultural and heritage spaces in Beja (15 and 16 may), Mértola (22 may), and Alvito (30 may) will host artistic experimentation and dialogues between music, literature, sport, installations, and workshops, featuring local and national artists and collectives.
The 5th edition of the Futurama Festival once again establishes itself as a space for creation and presentation that embraces artistic and geographical intersections.
All the program is free entrance.
