In 2024, the Futurama Festival will take place over three weekends in Baixo Alentejo, with a unique programme in each geography.
Cultural and heritage venues in Serpa (27 and 28 September), Mértola (5 October) and Beja (11 and 12 October) are the stage for artistic experimentation and dialogue between music, literature, theatre, installations and workshops, with local, national and international artists and artistic collectives.
The 3rd edition of the Futurama Festival has once again established itself as a place of creation and presentation that focuses on artistic and geographical crossroads.
All the program is free entrance.
Filipa Francisco | Where are we going?

A dance piece by choreographer and dancer Filipa Francisco, in collaboration with students from Serpa Secondary School. A creation that celebrates the women of the Republic and their struggles for rights, based on the writings of Maria Veleda.
Joana Craveiro | Persistent Silences

An intimate theatre show about silenced voices and memories, by the light of a lamp and to the sound of an old cassette. This project is part of the vast research that director and playwright Joana Craveiro has dedicated to the archives of the Portuguese dictatorship.

The Mina de São Domingos Choral Group and the Os Caldeireiros de São João Choral Choir took part in Cantexto with poems written by Afonso Cruz and José Luís Peixoto. They revive these new ‘modas’ of Alentejo singing in the first part of the unprecedented concert by the Portuguese Tânia Carvalho with the Spanish Rocío Guzman.
